Our Purpose and Legacy

Each day is a gift. Austin taught us this from his first moment on earth. But when cancer threatens to rob your child of their future, you truly realize how fragile life is, and how quickly these precious days can be taken from you. This is why we exist. Our ultimate goal, a cure. And until then, we fight for effective treatments that will offer more of these precious days for young cancer warriors and their families.

Educate

Little funding exists for pediatric cancer research. Did you know 4% of the taxpayer-funded National Cancer Institute’s annual budget is directed toward pediatric cancer? This is why we must educate!

Fight

No child or family should have to endure this brutal disease alone. The Austin Strong Foundation stands beside those families currently in the fight for their children’s lives.

OUR PILLARS

Each day is a gift. And for this reason it is important to take on childhood cancer from several angles. The most important of those being research, but also very important, is creating family support activities and community education through experiences and memories made. A cure is coming, but we must make the most of our time. Tomorrow is never promised. Here’s what we are up to!

University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital

The Foundation is pleased to partner with this state of the art hospital right in our back yard. It means so much to us to be able to donate locally, and the exact place where Austin received his treatments. In addition to funding research, we do the Toy Drive every Christmas season for the entire children’s oncology floor, and are constantly collaborating on new ways we can support the hospital.
